Radio 3 Free Thinking with Srdja Popovic

Srdja Popovic is an expert on grassroots protest, having been one of the leaders of the political guerrilla campaign against Serbian dictator Slobodan Milošević. I was flattered to be ask to debate the nature of political protest with him, with Professor Rana Mitter presenting. But unlike Popovic, I’m not sure that satirical protest is an inherently liberal phenomenon. Populist movements don’t always end well.
